Our McGill Students gave a wonderful performance of poetry, dance and song from the 1970's. Watch it here:
We had our usual fun run-up to the performance, including some teachers and others in 70s costumes:
Mikaela (and her backup dancers) started us off with "One the Radio":
Then, our Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten performed "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and "YMCA"
Our First Grade paid a visit to "Funkytown":
Then they were joined by our Second Grade for a joint rendition of "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?"
The Second Grade stayed onstage to perform "Stayin' Alive":
The Third Grade performed "Lean on Me" and "Born to be Alive":
Nahyeli took the mic for a solo, with backup dancers, declaring "I Will Survive!":
Next, the Dance Crew "Turn[ed] the Beat Around":
Fourth and Fifth grades joined forces for "Old Time Rock & Roll":
Penultimately, the Fifth Grade gave us "Boogie Oogie Oogie":
Finally, everyone came together for "We Are Family," which describes McGill so well!
Big thanks to Mr Rios and Ms E for all their work on the show!
